Swiss Vacheron & Constantin The oldest Swiss factory, founded by Jean-Marc Vacheron, in 1775. The firm of Vaceron & the firm of Constantin were in business about the same date 1785, but the association bearin gthe name today did not come into being until 1819. In these early periods, different grades of watches produced by Vacheron & Constantin bore different names. The association with Leschot, around 1840, catapulted the firm into its position as a top quality manufacturer. Before that time, their watches were typically of Genevese production. Vacheron & Constantin exported many movements to the United States to firm such as Bigelow, Kennard & Co., which were cased domestically, typically in the period the 1900 - 1935. In its early period the firm produced some lovely ladies' enameled watches, later it produced high grade timepieces and complicated watches, and to this day produces fine watches.
